"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:3-6

BFIAR: Ask Mr. Bear

Book: Ask Mr. Bear by Marjorie Flack
Age: 36 months, 24 months, 18 months

Verse: 2 Corinthians 9:7
Letter: B is for Bear, G is for Goat (used printables from 1+1+1=1 from our alphabet files)

This was a FUN week!!! I carefully selected this book for this week for two reasons: Raelynn's cousin Adele is visiting (24 months) and I knew she knew her farm animals and would like that.  The other reason is that it is about a boy named Danny and he is searching for a birthday present for his mother.  It was perfect because we could play up the birthday theme since it was both Raelynn and my birthday!  Such a perfect book for this week.

I didn't get a lot of pictures this week, but we did get a lot of fun activities in.  We read the book A LOT.  Little Adele kept asking for me to read "Danny" and "Read it again."  :)  I definitely have the book memorized by now!

We all got in on the reading this week!
We even read it in a fort!

shadow matching (printables from Tot school printables letter G)
these were fun! the kids colored them then we used them as props in retelling the story

Raelynn reading to Adele

Celebrating my birthday and getting my big bear hug!!!!

Playing with "cloud dough" and making cupcakes for our birthday theme

Tot School Notebook--printables from 1+1+1=1 and Homeschool Creations
(Letter G, Letter B, and Ask Mr. Bear printables)

Where is the egg? from Homeschool Creations
I'm getting better about rotating my 'tot trays' and making certain toys/activities available for the kids all week based on the theme of the book.  Some of the things we did this week:
farm animal stickers

farm animal magnets (Melissa and Doug)

had the felt board out all week and I added a bear for this story

Little people farm--this was fun to use to act out the story--and now our little farmer is officially named Danny!

A farm animal and birthday themed clothespin match

farm animal lacing

farm animal puzzle
Other fun things we did with the book that didn't get pictures of:
-Zoo trip! We made sure to see the bears and pet the goats
-walked like the animals (in the story it gives several ways they moved like gallop, trot, run, walk)
-act out the story and gave lots of bear hugs
-sang Old MacDonald
-farm animals lap book--will post about this later with link

Other ideas we didn't get to but I hope to next time around:

-sensory bin with farm animals for imaginative play
-animal match with baby and mama animal names
