"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:3-6

Project 52: week thirteen

September 22-29

Sunday Snapshot:
hot. tired. hungry.  doesn't always make for the best picture.  Had to get a picture of the matching dresses though!

Went to Walmart this week and was happy to find a Sam's Club shopping cart! We all fit:)

We went to Macayo's for happy hour chimichangas this week!

After dinner, she was nice enough to come to our house so we could go out ALONE.  yes, alone.  :)  We just walked around holding hands and tried some Freddy's custard for the first time.  It was so nice to hold my main man's hand instead of a baby.

It's beginning to feel like fall around here...not the weather, but I got the fall decorations out and needed something pumpkin to eat.  Raelynn helped make pumpkin bread!

We went to the zoo! On Friday, we had a big adventure to the zoo.
We have a membership, but it's just been too hot to go. So now that I'm getting a gigantic belly it is just in time that the weather is cooling down:)  It was a fun day!

There was a monkey right behind the camera-woman! Dec and Rae are both pointing at it:)
It was a fun day! Raelynn LOVES the animals, and Declan is finally at that age where he pays attention to them a bit.  Since the weather is cooling down the animals were nice and active.  The kids all did GREAT and we'll be going back again soon.

Brent has been working so hard on the back yard.  He finished this fence, which has a little hinged door to block off the AC units and lawn mower.  He planted a couple vines that will bloom flowers as well.  We hope they will grab on to the fence and hide the AC units a bit.

He has worked endlessly on this project and we're excited to get the grass planted.  Such a handyman!

Our little sleeping beauty...

She sure is sweet when she is sleeping, but lately she isn't sleeping very well.  She is waking up in the middle of the night regularly and the only thing that will make her fall back asleep is a bottle.  She is only drinking an ounce or two, so we know it isn't because she is hungry.  It's hard on us, but we know that it is only because that is how she was always soothed and put back to sleep in Ethiopia. Elliana is going down well at night and for naps.  We are rocking her a bit and then put her in bed slightly awake and she is falling asleep on her own.  She wakes up for the day around 5:30, and bless Daddy's heart, he usually gets up with her.  She will eat and he will put her back in the crib, but she never falls back asleep.  So then mommy gets up with her when Daddy leaves for work.  She is just an early riser, unlike the rest of us:)  Her naps are going well though and some days she goes down for her morning nap before Declan is even awake!

Eating was up and down this week.  She continues to need to have her hands held down at times, which upsets her but then she eats well after that.  She is picking up her finger foods SO well now! But her main food is still purees.

Elliana is scooting army crawl style around EVERYWHERE and is fast! She follows me around the kitchen, but is also content to play with a toy alone.  She just seems happy overall and isn't as whiney as she had been.

She continues to seek us for comfort, whether it is after discipline or just from falling over and hurting herself.  She clings on very tightly and buries her head in us.

We think things are going really well and are praising God for His goodness!
