"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:3-6

11 months!

Wow.  Where is time going?! Elliana has been home 3 months already and today she is 11 months old!  I can't believe next month she will be ONE!  I also can't believe that very soon we will have a bassinet next to our bed again and have another baby to grow as the months pass.

Someone told me when Elliana first came home "these years will be a blur" and that made me really sad.  I know she was just being honest in reflecting on the years her children were this age, but I don't want them to be a blur because they are the best! Some days are so long and by 7:30am I'm already looking forward to 7:30pm, but the years are short and will go by way too fast.  I know that before I know it Elliana will be chasing after her older siblings and her little brother will be crawling.

Time really does go so fast and it makes my heart ache a little bit when I think about that.  And every stage that my kids are in I am always thinking "this is the BEST stage!" but then it happens again at the next one.  I hope that continues forever:)  Time goes by quickly and no day is promised to any of us.  I pray that our family is making the most of each day to honor God with the time we are given and that we are faithful as we seek to raise these children He has blessed us with in the short time we have with them on earth.  But anyway....I digress.....so today, Elliana is 11 months old! :)

caught her mid laugh:)

Elliana sure has sprouted a spunky personality! She is never quiet and I think once she can start talking, she will be full of songs, questions, and funny comments!

This picture shows her personality!!

Elliana is doing so well.  We feel like at times it has been a few steps forward and then one step back, but in the last week or so she has made such huge progress!  She is a sweetheart and a joy to have around.  Her smile and her laugh melt our hearts.  It is amazing to see the progress she has made just since being home.  Some fun facts for this month:

-She has two teeth on the bottom
-She has been army crawling and scooting for almost the whole month
-She JUST started crawling on her knees
-She is starting to pull herself up on the stairs and in the bathtub.  Or on us if we are on the floor
-She can clap (and anytime she hears "good job" she claps!)
-She waves on command
-She can do 'touchdown'
-She loves peek-a-boo and has started to play it with her blanket
-She can do fish lips and click her tongue
-She will mimic everything we do!
-Her siblings CRACK HER UP!
-She eats mostly puree food
-She loves eating whole peas, black beans, corn, and puffs
-She loves to pick at our shag carpet and eat the strings
-Still swaddled for sleeping
-Is learning what "no" means and is showing obedience
-Enjoys looking at books, clapping two toys together, shaking maracas, and playing with spoons
-She is into EVERYTHING and will explore around the house
-When she sees the ergo on my waist she gets so giddy and claps with excitement
-She has been sleeping through the night (again) for the last week
-She clings to mommy or daddy and likes to burry her head in our chest

  1. That opening paragraph was hugely encouraging - something I needed to hear after a hard week. Praise God for your perspective! Oh, and my favorite thing about the Elliana update is her getting excited when she sees the Ergo :-)

    1. Love how God works!
And I def need to get her reaction on camera. It is adorable. The other day I walked away with it on (so she had just really excited about it) and she did a full face down on the floor cry. It was so sad, but so cute! I think I forgot to add in, she can say "Ike" and "hi" too!!!
